App: Format Factory (com.chuangyu.geshigongchang) · Developer: Geshi · Last updated: October 27, 2026

Format Factory ("the App") is a media format conversion tool that runs entirely on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and confirms that we are committed to protecting your privacy.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect, transmit, store on external servers, or share any personal information. Specifically:

• All video, audio, and image processing happens locally on your device using a built-in media engine. Your files are never uploaded anywhere.
• No accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party tracking.
• We do not access your contacts, location, microphone, camera, or any other sensors.

2. Permissions the App Uses

• Photos and media access: used only when you choose files to convert. Files are read locally and processed on-device; they are never transmitted over the network.
• Storage (Android 12 and below): used only to save converted output files that you request.
• Notifications: used to show the progress of ongoing conversion tasks while the App works in the background.
• Foreground service: keeps conversion tasks running reliably even if you switch to another App or lock your screen.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device, inside the App's private storage:

• Your conversion task history (file names, formats, and status) shown in the task center.
• Your converted output files, saved so you can access them later from the works library.

This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing the App's data in system settings. Uninstalling the App removes all of this local data.

4. Open-Source Software

The App includes open-source media libraries (FFmpeg, x264, LAME) licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). These libraries process your files locally and do not access the network.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

6. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
